A Kerala expat organisation will hold a musical programme at the Royal Tent of Diplomatic Club in Doha on February 7.
The musical show, called ‘Hrudaya Ragangal’ (Melodies of Heart) , will be conducted by composer Rajamani, the son of eminent music director V Chidambaranath, said its organsier, SD College Alleppey Alumni Association in Qatar.
“Leading singers of the Malayalam film industry including Sudeep Kumar, Swetha Mohan, Sathish Babu, Sithara, Nishad and Achu (Rajamani’s son) will perform with a live orchestra troupe, who will be specially flown in for the event,” a spokesman of the alumni association said.
“This will be a tribute to the maestros of the Malayalam film music Dakshinamoorthy, Devarajan, Baburaj, M K  Arjun, Salil Chowdary and Chidambaranath,” the spokesman said.  
“The three-hour programme will feature the hit Malayalam film songs of the 1970s like Aa Nimishathinte, Chandrikayilaliyunnu, Sandhya Mayangum Neram, Innenikku Pottu Kuthan, Sannyasini and Akale Akale.”
Leading Malayalam poet and film director Sreekumaran Thampi will be the guest of honour.
“Entry will be by tickets, available in selected outlets starting from the second week of January,” the spokesman added.
“This will be a unique programme which will be cherished by the music fans in Doha,” the spokesman said.
