Barwa Bank has announced the winners in its National Day competition, which invited Qatar’s residents to express their national pride through poetry and photography that creatively captured the day’s celebrations.
Ahmed el-Hossan was awarded an iPad from the bank for his National Day poem, while Ak BijuRaj and Azee LM each received an iPhone 4S for their photography that depicted the importance of the day in Qatar’s history.
Barwa Bank Marketing head Diane Alphonse commented: “I would like to congratulate our National Day competition winners for their outstanding submissions. We launched this competition as a fun and creative way to both celebrate and commemorate this year’s National Day and have been extremely impressed with originality in which people have expressed the essence of what National Day means to them. As a local Shari’ah compliant bank, we feel that it is crucial that we support and initiate activities which bring Qatar’s community together in a productive, engaging and appealing manner.”
Barwa Bank Al Sadd branch manager Abdulaziz al-Nema presented the winners with their prizes at a special ceremony held at Barwa Bank headquarters on Tuesday.
The winners were selected by a panel of judges from Barwa Bank.
