QP’s Mesaieed International School celebrated the achievements of its Year 11 students in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations as well as their progress in the current academic year.
The prize-giving ceremony was attended by parents and teachers of Year 11 students, QP senior officials and other guests from the Mesaieed community.
During the event, certificates were handed out to students by QP administration director Ahmad Ali Abdulla al-Mawlawi, human resources manager Abdulla Omar Ismail al-Dafaa, personnel administration acting manager Tamader Abdulla S al-Khater, personnel administration (Mesaieed) head Nawaf al-Khalifa, and MIS headmaster Kevin John Massey.
The Mesaieed fire division was present at the event in force with a large fire truck to welcome all the guests with an impressive line-up as they entered the school building.
The division was led by station officer (operations) Antony Reilly, divisional fire officer (operations) Barry Shelmerdine, security head (port) David Blackhouse and Mesaieed Medical Services chief nurse Gregory Rayner.
The event, which was hosted by Secondary School head Jane Goldsack celebrated examination results all-round with many of the students achieving grades that would place them in the top 10% of all pupils worldwide.
The prize-giving ceremony included felicitation of two students - Mohammed Khaled Hassan and Kevin Kobina Morgan - who achieved the highest marks among all students in Qatar in two Cambridge
International Examinations.
Hassan has achieved the highest mark in Qatar for IGCSE physics while Morgan scored highest mark in Qatar for IGCSE English as a second language.
