The Qatar National Day Celebrations Organising Committee in association with Ministry of Interior will be hosting a quiz and cultural performance competition for students of expatriate schools.
The event is on December 14 from 3.30pm to 9.30pm at the auditorium of Ahmed bin Hanbal School, beside Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Najma area.
The objective is to educate students of the expatriate schools and the general public on the history, customs and traditions of Qatar.
The cultural competition, on the theme ‘Qatar’s past, present and future,’ will focus on the lifestyle of Qataris in the olden days such as fishing, diving for pearls, pearl trading and old Qatar and modern Qatar.
The quiz, open to the general public as well, is on the founder of Qatar and its past. There is also a security and safety awareness film show.
The first three prize winners of the cultural performance competition’ will get QR10,000, QR5,000 and QR3,000, respectively.
The quiz contest will have 50 valuable prizes each for the participants and the general public. A total of 1,500 seats are available at the venue.
