HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani who is also the board chairman of Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) attended a programme at the Emiri Diwan marking the launch of the centre.
The Heir Apparent met the first batch of the participants in the current and future leadership programmes and urged them to exert utmost effort to develop their leadership skills.
The Heir Apparent said that this programme is primarily supported by Qatar’s Vision 2030 and it aims to produce well qualified candidates for leadership positions.
The Heir Apparent called on the participants to take the initiative, bear the responsibility and materialise the aspirations and ambitions to be able to play their prominent role in the next stage to raise high the status of Qatar worldwide.
The participants thanked the Heir Apparent for his support of the center and confirmed their intention to do everything in their power to contribute to the achievement of ambitious development goals of the country.
During the programme, a film about Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC), its goals and the present and future visions and programmes, was screened. A lecture on the State of Qatar and its history was delivered.
On January 11, 2012, the Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) successfully presented the inaugural module of its Current and Future Leaders Programme as a select group of young Qatari professionals concluded a three-day, customised series of sessions focused on the transformation of organisations in an uncertain world.
“We are pleased that the first Qatar Leadership Centre programme has made such a positive beginning, and that the programme has been well received by the first class of participants,” remarked HE Sheikh Dr Abdullah bin Ali al-Thani, QLC’s executive director and board member of the centre.
“As a special initiative of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, its Chairman, QLC is positioned to play a significant role in helping promising young Qatari men and women to further develop their high-level leadership skills. This will enable them to better serve Qatar in many important areas in the future,” he noted.
