Former Indian cricketer Gundappa Ranganath Viswanath, pictured, will be the chief guest at the finals of the annual Karnataka Sangha Qatar Invitational Cricket Tournament to be held on March 16.
The tournament will begin next week at Old Ideal Indian School grounds.
The match is played with tennis ball and the tournament is to be held under floodlights. Twelve teams are participating.
In the final match, two teams will play two innings of 10 over each.
Popularly known as Vishy during his playing days, Viswanath was instrumental in India scoring several victories in Test cricket in the ’70s and early ’80s.
He had scored 14 centuries in Tests and was the first Indian to score centuries against all six other Test playing nations those days.
He had scored more than 6,000 runs.
