The new logo, which was unveiled by Al Zain chief executive officer Nabeel al-Zain during the DJWE opening, was designed around the motif of a swan and it’s symbol of beauty and elegance fashioned to reflect Al Zain’s long heritage and commitment to personalised designer creations.
Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the DJWE opening ceremony, Al-Zain said the exhibition provided the perfect backdrop to unveil its new brand.
“We felt that unveiling our new brand here at this prestigious event displays our commitment to this market. The fact that we will soon open our first store in Doha, which will be the 17th in the region, is further evidence of our belief in the strength of this market and we look forward to bringing more examples of our quality and craftsmanship to Doha in the weeks and months ahead,” he said.
Al-Zain mentioned that the jeweller is now focusing more on the use of diamonds specifically for bridal sets.
“Just as the logo - the swan depicts beauty, we are continuously producing pieces about embracing family life and of love. Every step in life is important to us, which is why we cater to everybody in the family from newborn to teenagers and elderly,” Al Zain communications manager Noora al-Zain said.
She said price depends on customer specification as most items are customised and not mass produced.
“Our prices depend on the customers’ demands and it can go up to $10mn because Qatari ladies are sophisticated with a high taste for luxury goods. We have a number of Qatari customers who appreciate our jewellery,” Nabeel al-Zain said.
He mentioned that the outlet recently launched new collections including Arabdeco.
“Arabdeco is a fusion of both Western and Eastern features of jewellery and our most innovative design and it won an award in Bahrain last December,” Al-Zain said.
Founded in 1930, by Abdulla Al Zain, a pearl merchant, the company has gone from strength to strength and is now a leader in fine jewellery design.
Al Zain has won several international awards for their jewellery design and craftsmanship including the coveted Tahitian Pearl Trophy and the Gold Virtuousi award.
Al Zain also participates in expositions such as the Basel Fair in Switzerland, JCK Las Vegas and the ultra-luxury JA Expo in New York.
