HEC Paris in Qatar has announced the successful conclusion of its first ‘HEC Knowledge Lab’ event of 2012. The event was attended by more than 25 human resources leaders and development professionals at the W- Doha.
HEC Paris in Qatar created the HEC Knowledge Lab to provide a platform for senior HR leaders and development executives in Qatar to network and learn from each other, through a series of lectures and workshops led by local and international experts.
It also aimed to create a knowledge community that will contribute to the advancement of talent development for organisations in Qatar and in the region.
Facilitated by HEC Paris senior adjunct lecturer Dr Sandra Shullman the session addressed the challenges for Qatar’s human resources professionals and learning leaders in the attraction, development and retention of leadership talent within their organisations.
Dr Shullman has had a distinguished career working with senior executives and executive teams in a wide range of organisations around the world.
She is managing partner at the Executive Development Group, an international leadership development and consulting firm.
It is this level of expertise that Dr Shullman brings to HEC Paris, where she teaches in the EMBA programme, lecturing on leadership courses in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
She has been involved in executive development for over 35 years.
The HEC Knowledge Lab’s programme included presentations and group interactions, helping participants exchange ideas and best practices.
Learning objectives included workforce trends, understanding how talent management and leadership initiatives can be more successful, and the key components of effective talent management and leadership development.
The event also represented an opportunity to showcase HEC Paris in Qatar’s commitment to executive education and its contribution to the transformation of Qatar into an advanced, competitive, and knowledge-based economy.
The programme was the first of several planned to take place over the course of this year, with subsequent labs exploring different themes.
HEC Paris in Qatar chief operating officer Joshua Kobb commented: “This HR leadership event was informative and productive.
