Al-Rafie
Ahli Bank has appointed Moataz el-Rafie as its new chief executive officer succeeding Salah Murad who held the position since February 2009.
During Murad’s tenure, the bank witnessed remarkable progress and development and achieved excellent financial results.
El-Rafie is a seasoned banking professional with over three decades of banking experience in the region.
Before joining Ahli Bank, he served Boubyan Bank, Kuwait, in the capacity of general manager, corporate banking and treasury.
He was also previously employed at the National Bank of Kuwait where he was the general manager of the strategic planning and business development group.
El-Rafie started his professional career in 1976 with Commercial International Bank (formerly Chase Bank), Egypt, where he held several leading positions in various departments of the bank.
The prolific banker holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cairo University and he is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
“As the CEO of Ahli Bank, my focus will be on implementing a strategy in collaboration with Ahli United Bank, our strategic partner, with the aim of enhancing our financial resources and competitiveness in order to play a more active role in the advancement of the national economy and achieve the best possible results for our shareholders, customers and employees,” El-Rafie said.
