Al-Eidah: The Sports Day will enhance communication within the bank’s workforce
A committee has been formed by Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), the largest Islamic bank in the country and one of the top five Shariah-compliant banks in the world, to organise the bank’s activities with regard to Qatar National Sports Day on February 14.
The initiative is part of the bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and willingness to take part in activities beneficial to the development of Qatar.
QIB’s director board member Abdullah Saeed al-Eidah will oversee a newly-formed committee to organise the bank’s activities for the National Sports Day.
The programme will include numerous sports activities for employees, including sports competitions, fitness exercises, sports “mind games”, leisure games and short marathons.
Al Sayliya Sports Club will also be taking part in the day, as well as athletes from Qatar and around the Gulf.
Al-Eidah commented that QIB’s commitment to CSR is well-known, as is its wish to enthusiastically take part in activities which further this country’s development.
“In forming a committee to oversee the bank’s contribution to the event, QIB aims to add to the objective of the Sports Day: the pursuit of an active and healthy lifestyle, and the benefits that can bring to body and mind.
“The Sports Day is also a way of raising awareness on the relationship between a balanced food diet, and the importance of physical fitness and health,” he said.
“Participating in the Sports Day is not only going to be good for our employees on an individual basis, but it will help enhance the communication within our workforce, through a spirit of inclusion and the possibility to network while gathered together,” al-Eidah added.
