Under this, Kahramaa customers can pay their utility bills and update accounts at Qtel’s nationwide network of Self-Service Machines (SSM) and the telecom major’s customer service portal.
This is in addition to the existing payment facilities that Kahramaa provides its customers in Qatar.
“Through the agreement, the two entities will be able to provide shared services for all their customers, providing support for almost the entire population of Qatar. This is the first time that a utility services provider has linked payment services with a leading telecommunications operator,” a Qtel release said.
With more than 220 Qtel SSMs, mostly at locations that are open 24x7 including super markets, airport, malls and petrol stations across the country, the new agreement enables customers to quickly and easily pay electricity and water bills.
They will also be able to use Qtel’s drive-through SSMs, providing “more convenience” to customers.
In addition, customers will also be able to pay through the convenient customer service portals, www.qtel.qa, www.km.qa
Qtel and Kahramaa will work to extend the agreement in the coming months to offer enhanced services for customers, as well as investigating other areas of potential co-operation.
Qtel acting executive director, Customer Service, Mohamed Saleh al-Marri said, “This is a landmark agreement that sees two of Qatar’s leading organisations come together for the convenience of the community. By joining systems, we will be able to provide one of the most comprehensive services ever offered in this country, and deliver customer support wherever our customers need it.”
Kahramaa Customer Services Department manager Nasser Ali al-Muhannadi said, “We are pleased to sign this agreement with Qtel, as both our organisations are committed to improving customer service and supporting our customers as and when they need it. Through our integrated payment systems, we will be providing around-the-clock service and delivering convenience and security for all.”
