Experts discuss safety at the meeting
A seminar on ‘Security and safety at companies and role of businessmen in spreading awareness on safety procedures’ in addition to exposed risks for financial institutions and methods of its prevention was recently held as  part of the media and awareness activities of the media centre of the third Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference, that will be held next month at the Doha International Conference Centre.
Prominent Qatari businessmen Omar Alfardan and Owaidha al-Kuwari, managing director of the international company for tents and halls Waleed Wahba and officials from companies in safety and security systems’ field attended the seminar.
“Safety and prevention are considered as matters of first priority among the businessmen who know the range of their role very well,” said al-Kuwari.
“For this reason, a businessman has to comply with the safety systems for the protection of the lives of workers of the projects and companies. The protection of assets and its subsidiaries is an obligatory duty for a businessman.”
Waleed Wahba pointed out that every user of a tent is responsible for fire safety and prevention as these are temporary structures and the safety equipment for buildings cannot be used here.
The media centre also hosted Alfardan Group’s Omar Alfardan, who urged intensifying efforts to develop mechanisms and programmes for protecting the society from any risk.
Speaking on the subject ‘Partnership responsibility between social organisations and civil defence authority’, Alfardan said the matter of safety and security is considered as one of the priority subjects linked with the development of the society. Undoubtedly, the civil defence authority is one of the organisations working continuously to ensure security and it provides a complete network for the protection of the whole community, Alfardan elaborated.
