The Internal Security Force (ISF) has a requirement for a new camp at Al Duhail on the outskirts of Doha. QPM has secured the contract to oversee the design, construction and overall project management for the development, which will cover four million square metres in total.
The ISF project will be large in scale, featuring more than 330 individual building units made up of several different types of purpose-built facilities. The new camp is expected to take five years to complete. QPM’s brief requires its expertise to be available to the client throughout the timeline of the project from planning, through construction, and on to completion in 2016.
The ISF camp development is the first project in Qatar which has been targeted to achieve the QSAS Neighborhood Certification. QSAS is the ‘Qatar Sustainability Assessment System’, a new classification which aims to promote sustainability in construction and encourage sympathy between new developments and their surrounding areas.
