This is in line with the recent government decision to increase the salaries of nationals in the government service by 60%.
QIIB’s decision was announced last night after a meeting of the bank’s board of directors presided over by chairman and managing director Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdulla al-Thani.
He said, “This increase will help meet our Qatari employees’ expectations to benefit from the Emiri gift.”
Sheikh Dr Khalid said International Islamic is very keen that the Qatari staff at the bank got the best care and facilities to improve their skills and expertise.
QIIB is in the forefront of developing the Qatari manpower in the banking industry. The bank provides adequate training to its Qatari workforce in various aspects of Islamic banking. QIIB recognises the importance of equipping Qataris for nation building, he said.
