The event, being organised by Al Baida group, is supported by Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the GCC General Secretariat, the Federation of GCC Chambers, the Italian Industry & Commerce Office and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, to showcase latest products, technologies and solutions featuring railways, shipping, freight and logistics.
Ali Abdul Latif al-Misnad, chairman of Al Baida Group, said yesterday that Qatar Navigation, Saudi Rail SAR, Gulf Warehousing Company, Q-mobility, and Efacec are the strategic sponsors for TRANS4 2011.
Al-Misnad stated that TRANS4 is an opportunity to strike business deals or sign memorandums of understanding with other companies.
He also said that it is a highly specialised exhibition and it has received support from the
government.
He pointed out that they have “seen tremendous interest from international, regional and local companies to participate in the expo this year, and “we’ve added extra spaces outside the exhibition centre for companies who wanted to display large, heavy machinery and equipment. We also secured some bookings for TRANS4 next year.”
He also said that TRANS4 invites everyone working in or related to the shipping, transportation, logistics and railways to visit the exhibition, as the expo is an important platform for experts, decision-makers, and representatives of international companies to get the latest updates on technologies, products and solutions used in this vital sector.
Al-Misnad expected that the transport and logistic services projects taking place in the region would have a dramatic change in the way goods are transported.
He also pointed out that GCC railways network, which is about 2,177km long, extending from Kuwait in the west and Oman in the east and passing through Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE, would play an important role in enhancing freight transport.
He said that TRANS4 aims at introducing the latest solutions and technologies employed in the freight and logistic services sector as well as railways. This exhibition has also a special importance because it coincides with the Gulf conference for transportation and railways that will be held in Doha.
Marco Lajoso, business development manager, at Efacec said: “I’m sure that TANS4 would not only provide us a platform to facilitate strategic alliances and expand our customer base, but will also allow us to strengthen our presence in the Qatar business scene.”
