Dolphin Energy has reached 10mn manhours without a lost time injury between February 2009 and July 2011.
Since 2007, when operations began, Dolphin Energy Qatar registered an 88% reduction in the lost time incident rate (LTIR), which tracks the number of incidents that result in a lost time injury or illness per million hours worked.
Furthermore, its total recordable incident rate (TRIR) – a key measurement within safety which comprises the total number of injury or illness related incidents that the company experienced for million hours worked – continues to improve year on year.
Commenting on the achievement, Dolphin Energy Qatar general manager Adel Ahmed Albuainain said: “Reaching this milestone is a great achievement for the entire organisation and is the direct result of a robust safety culture that has been installed from the outset. This could not have been achieved without an enormous amount of hard work and effort.
“I would like to extend my congratulations to every Dolphin employee and our contractors, who have been unstinting in maintaining this commitment to safety performance,” he added.
