Turkish Airlines held a lavish Iftar dinner in honour of the travel agents at W Hotel in Doha on Saturday.
The occasion provided an opportunity for the airline staff and the travel agents to exchange views besides enjoying Turkish hospitality.
Turkish Airlines’ Qatar general manager Ersen Engin said that their airline was one of the preferred carriers in Qatar flying more than 65,000 passengers in 2010 and this year their target was 85,000.
Turkey as a holiday destination route has been one of the preferred destinations for most of the Arabs and this year their number has topped last year’s figures, he added.
Among the festivals being held in Turkey, Turkish authorities have organised Ramadan Fest to attract visitors from the Middle East to experience the Ramadan culture there.
Turkish Airlines support these events by making it possible for people to relish this culture with affordable prices in their summer holidays, Engin said.
Turkish Airlines flies to over 184 destinations worldwide with a fleet of 177 aircraft. The airline operates 10 flights a week from Doha to Istanbul as well as to many other destinations via Istanbul.
