Pakistani schools in Qatar have produced good results in the SSC-11 examination 2011, conducted by the Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Islamabad in March.The results of the examination were published yesterday.
While recording 100 % pass percentage in examination, as many as 28 students of both Pakistan Education Centre (PEC) and five Pak Shamaa School & College secured the highest grade of A1, scoring more than 80% marks overall.
Besides the 28 A1 grades, 31 PEC students got ‘A’ grade (more than 70 % but below 80%) and 48 received `B’ grade, scoring more than 60%. In all, 107 students secured more than 60%, according to school authorities.
At Pak Shamaa, which also produced 100% pass percentage, five students secured more than 80% marks.
Among the students appeared for examination from Qatar, the top eight positions were secured by students of PEC. Students Sania Hussain (995/1050), Zartasha Arooj Shahid (992/1050) and Abeer Nazir (986) clinched the first three positions, respectively. Hamza Mohamed (973), Nadiya Abdul Karim (969), Kashaf Najeeb (966), Amara Hoor (963) and Muteeba Fayyaz (958), all PEC students, were placed in positions between fourth and eighth.
Nida Nasir of Pak Shamaa came ninth, scoring 952/1050 and Simra Afzal of PEC (941) was among the top 10 students from Qatar.
Other students who secured A1 grade from PEC include Sumica Asad, Asma Zahir-ul Haq, Sana Saleem, Mohamed Jawad, Meshal Parvez, Mohamed Umar Jamil, Fozia Tahir, Mariya Farooq, Mohamed Waleed, Fatima Ghulam, Talal Mehfooz, Ghina Haroon, Fatima Razzaq, Ahmad Hazrat Gul, Huma Nabeel Ahmed, Sughra Tariq Aziz, Faryal Zahid, Faisal Mohamed Amin, and Abdul Aziz Asghar Khan.
Besides Nida Nasir, Pak Shamaa students Kiran Shazadi (923), Asma Nasir (892), Rabia Aamir (886), and Abhar Musthaq (841) secured AI grade.
The ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar, Mohamed Safraz Ahmed Khanzada, praised the performance of students who appeared for examination from the two schools. Khazada is also the chairman of the board of governors of PEC.
The vice chairman of the PEC board and second counsellor at the Pakistan embassy, Mohamed Afzal Shaikh, also hailed the achievement of the school.
PEC acting principal Raja Nasir Mahmood complimented the efforts of parents, teachers and students in producing good results at his school.
In a statement, Pak Shamaa School principal Nabila Kaukab congratulated parents, teachers and students.
