ICDL GCC Foundation, the governing body and the certification authority of the International Computer Driving Licence programme in the Gulf States and Iraq, has recently launched in Qatar the ICDL Computer Summer Camp 2011.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the camps, an initiative that aims at spreading digital awareness and empowering the youth with the skills and
competencies.
Supported by the education ministries in the GCC states, the ICDL Computer Summer Camps in Qatar will run in co-operation with various ICDL approved centres and independent schools. The camps commence in June 2011 and extend throughout the summer period, providing an exclusive opportunity for students to enhance their IT competency in accordance with the world-renowned ICDL standards.
Jamil Ezzo, director general of ICDL GCC Foundation, said: “The ICDL summer camps offer a truly unique, entertaining and effective way of cultivating the IT competency of the youth in Qatar and in the rest of the GCC. Moreover, the continuing success of the summer camps for the past 10 years will certainly add momentum to ICDL’s long-term campaign to further boost the region’s digital awareness.”
