Bharathi, an Indian association at Al Khor, arranged a two-day drawing and painting workshop, ‘Fun-n-Art’ involving noted artist Himalay M Patkar from Mumbai, India for the art lovers of Al Khor community.
There were two sessions, with one for Grade 1-4 children and second for fifth grade and above children and adults.
Over 200 participants took part. Children as well as their parents were much inspired by the young maestro, followed his easy tips and successfully applied the strokes on the sketch book perfectly. Patkar, a 16-year-old, who has found a mention in the Limca Book of Records, holds the rare distinction of having completed over 2,000 caricatures of world famous personalities.
In a very short span of time he has also managed to showcase his work at more than 200 solo exhibitions across India and has been lauded for his unique style and presentation. 
His highly acclaimed workshop series has benefited over 15,000 participants in just two years.
During the sessions he explained and guided participants during the live demonstration with simple tips about how to draw and emphasising on the human facial varieties and expressions.
Thomas Saldanha was the chief guest.
Chitra gave a welcome speech and Rekha proposed a vote of thanks.
Other committee members including Kimtee, Deepa, Sangeeta and Bhavigna were involved in organising the event. Drawing materials were sponsored by stationery supplier Stanford International.
