Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) yesterday opened a branch at Barwa Village in Al Wakrah. The new branch is QIB’s 30th in its rapidly growing network in the country.   
The branch will provide integrated banking services to both personal and business customers at Barwa Village in Al Wakrah. The village is home to more than 900 housing units and 1,200 stores, and attracts many visitors, making of it one of the “busiest modern shopping spots” in Qatar.
Ahmad Meshari, QIB Acting CEO said: “The Barwa Village branch is a new addition to QIB’s growing network to serve our customers in this strategic area. This branch is part of an ambitious QIB plan to open 35 branches by 2012 in order to be closer to our customers across the country, and meet the growing demand for top Islamic banking services in Qatar.”
Meshari said: “The rapid economic and demographic growth in the country requires that QIB is present in all key areas to serve its customers. The Barwa Village in Al Wakrah has become a strategic location, close to the Airport and Al Wakrah districts. Due to its location on the highway that links Mesaeed Industrial City with Al Wakrah, this branch is well placed to serve QIB’s customers of all categories’’. 
The new branch will provide all Shariah-compliant services such as bank accounts, deposits, financing, money transfer and bank cards.
QIB said it strives to enhance customer experience in its branches. QIB provides services through a network of 115 ATM, alternatives channels and a customer service centre that functions round the clock.
