The event was attended by the German Ambassador to Qatar Anna Ruth Herkes, AHK-Qatar senior representative Yasmin Furstmann, and AHK-Qatar projects manager Karen Kamel Raphael, along with a number of prominent figures in the country, representatives of German companies in Qatar and members of the country’s German community.
The event aimed at supporting students’ activities at the German School in Doha.
At the fundraising event, the ambassador said: “We have strong relations with Qatar, there is a steady growth in business and we look forward to further partnerships.”
Furstmann said that the AHK office in Qatar is keen to strengthen business and trade ties between German companies operating in Qatar and the Qatari society.
She said: “I thank all the sponsors who supported this charity dinner, including the official partner Salam Stores, the diamond sponsor IBQ, the platinum sponsor Alfardan Automobiles – BMW Group, and the gold sponsors ecoQ Environments Expo, Lufthansa, Renautica, and Züblin. We look forward to co-operating with them again in coming events.”
“AHK’s team in Qatar will continue to provide assistance to companies in Qatar and Germany looking for mutual business opportunities,” she added.
During the event, a glamorous fashion show was presented by Salam Stores displaying the latest summer 2011 collections of famous high-end brands.
The dinner was concluded with brief words of appreciation from German School in Doha board chairman Oliver Moritz, a raffle draw, and distribution of gifts from the sponsors.
