Visitors are flocking to the Project Qatar exhibition in large numbers after sunset.
Though the crowd is less when pavilions open at 4 in the evening, the entire area is bustling by 6 -6 30 pm.
“Industrial visitors usually come to the venue, after 6pm,” said a company representative, showcasing cleaning equipment for industrial use, including vehicle wash. When we opened at 4pm, there were not many people other than officials. “However, things changed with several hundreds thronging the area after the sunset,” he said.
A German exhibitor said expos in his native country are lively in the afternoons with most industrial visitors preferring to visit the venues soon after their lunch. “Here, things look wholly different in the evenings”, he said.
Most entrepreneurs participating in the exhibition are optimistic about clinch deals for their products because of the size of infrastructural activity in Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.
However one of the main drawbacks of the event, complain some exhibitors, is the lack of visibility in a big crowd. “The number of participants has gone up manifold compared to previous years and there is every possibility that many visitors may skip one venue after visiting the other,” said an exhibitor.
