VCUQatar students creating artworks at a workshop |
Held at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Doha showroom at The Pearl-Qatar on April 16 and 17, Fine Art Inspirations by Rolls-Royce showcased the skills of VCUQatar students from the Art Foundation and Fashion Design through live sketching workshops.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Doha brand manager Joseph Tayyar presented the students with three themes inspired by the automotive brand to be expressed in their sketches: The Power of Simplicity; The Spirit of Ecstasy – the flying lady that has gracefully adorned all Rolls-Royce models since 1911; and Impressions of Luxury inspired by Arabian Hues, the Middle East Bespoke Rolls-Royce Motor Cars influenced by the design and craftsmanship of numerous architectural structures in the Middle East.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Doha general manager Mohamed Kandeel said: “We believe innovation is a vital part of business success and take great pleasure in encouraging creativity in the world of fine art. Rolls-Royce is an iconic yet contemporary brand so collaborating with the VCUQatar for Fine Art Inspirations by Rolls-Royce, an event that specifically supports emerging artistic talent, was a natural synergy for us.”
An exhibition of artworks created at the workshops opened yesterday at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Doha showroom at The Pearl – Qatar for one week.
“We expect the exhibition to generate a lot of local and regional interest which will further highlight the importance of partnerships between art institutions and the business world,” Kandeel said.
The Fine Art Inspirations by Rolls-Royce exhibition will be open from 10am to 10pm.
