HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani attended yesterday afternoon with members of the Qatar’s Friends Society at the Congress ( American-Qatari Caucus) a reception held at the US Congress premises.
At the outset of the reception, the Emir gave a speech in which he expressed appreciation for the level the friendship relations between Qatar and the US and voiced satisfaction over the continuous development in relations between the two countries.
He reviewed the co-operation between the two countries in educational, investment, energy, military and political fields, hoping that those relations would contribute positively to the achievement of peace, security and stability in the Middle East and all over the world through peaceful, just and comprehensive solutions to conflicts which are still without solutions, foremost of which being the Arab-Israeli conflict.
In this respect, HH the Emir said the US was required to play a role in ending the Arab-Israeli conflict, especially in light of the current developments in the Middle East.
Concluding, the Emir thanked the US for it support to the democracies that began to emerge in the Middle East.
A number of the Caucus members gave speeches in which they welcomed HH the Emir and praised the distinguished relations between the two countries. They also commended the efforts which the State of Qatar has been making to find peaceful solutions to conflicts.
Meanwhile, HH the Emir on Tuesday evening met a number of Qatari citizens who are in the US for medical treatments.
The Emir was reassured of their health and he wished them speedy recovery and return home safely with complete health and happiness.
