Qtel has awarded the winner of its special promotion in connection with the Cricket World Cup for its Mozaic TV customers and announced free screenings in Doha at the weekend.
As part of Qtel’s special promotion of the ‘Pehla Silver’ package on Mozaic TV, Qtel held a competition to win a trip to Sri Lanka for two to watch the action-packed semi-final between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
The Pehla entertainment channels on Mozaic TV service offer live cricket coverage, including the 10th Cricket World Cup that concludes this weekend. Customers simply had to subscribe or upgrade to the Pehla Silver Package of Mozaic TV to enter the prize draw.
Doha resident Haneefa Mohamed was the lucky winner, jetting off with a friend for an expense-paid trip to Colombo to enjoy the semi-final between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
The Pehla Silver Package has 39 TV channels – including live ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 coverage – and is available for QR145 a month. From April, customers will be able to watch Indian Premier League Cricket on Pehla Silver.
The package is being offered with the first two months’ of a one-year subscription for free when customers sign-up before the month end.
To ensure that residents in Qatar without access to television channels that beam the matches still have the chance to cheer on their teams, Qtel will do free screening in the Industrial Area of the 10th Cricket World Cup finals that will be held in Mumbai on April 2.
Last Thursday, Qtel aired the match between India and Australia, which saw India score a famous victory and move through to the semi-finals.
Qtel is also supporting the Hala Fan Club for cricket fans, offering a ‘bumper bundle’ of Fan Club points to use for local voice, video calls and SMS, as well as an amazing new offer on international calls to cricketing countries. The Fan Club will be open until April 17.
