Amadeus Qatar has launched an initiative aimed at travel agents to increase sales of its online travel insurance policies.
To encourage travel agents to provide insurance to customers, Amadeus is offering increased promotions to agencies to sell the policies to travellers booking with them. At the end of April, Amadeus will award the travel agent who has sold the most policies.
The use of the online integrated insurance platform enables travel agents to provide the insurance easily to customers, Amadeus Qatar said.
Amadeus was the first to offer integrated online insurance in Qatar, linking up with Chartis Insurance to enable fast online purchasing for customers on the Amadeus platform. Chartis works exclusively with Amadeus in Qatar.
Amadeus Qatar general manager Wafiq al-Wahidi said, “The integrated insurance platform is a very efficient way of giving travellers insurance. Policies are awarded very quickly by utilising passenger data that is already in the system from travel information, so travel agencies become more efficient by being able to issue insurance in minutes.”
