The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of ‘Multi-Purpose Community Hall’ was held at Pakistan Education Centre (PEC) recently.

Pakistan’s Ambassador M. Asghar Afridi unveiled a plaque and witnessed the ceremony.
The occasion coincided with the annual general meeting of Pakistan Welfare Forum which has successfully completed its first year of operation.
Mohamed Idrees Anwar, member, founder, executive council of PWF, hosted the occasion and gave a brief account of the mandate and overall working of the forum besides the achievements it made during its first year.
He specifically mentioned the contribution of PWF in two separate fund-raising campaigns, under the auspices of Pakistan embassy, for the flood affected people and reconstruction of houses.
Ambassador Afridi praised the efforts of PWF in assisting the needy Pakistanis residing in Qatar, in areas of social welfare, education, and health. He assured the forum members of co-operation and urged the community members to join hands for noble causes.
Earlier, Pakistan embassy’s community welfare attaché Dr Mansoor A Rizvi, president PWF, Mohamed Israr Malazai, and Mohamed Khan spoke about the projects carried out by the forum.
Mohamed Israr Malazai specifically highlighted the contribution of PWF for the flood-affected people of Pakistan for which the local Pakistani community generated funds.
A five-member PWF delegation visited Pakistan and distributed basic commodities to various affected areas of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa in districts Charsadda, Nowshera and Swat.
Mohamed Khan has already started constructing one-bed-room housing units in different villages of Punjab which are in different stages of completion.
