Recognising the ongoing development of Qatar’s economy, the two companies will cooperate on world-class business solutions aimed at supporting companies in specific industries and growth sectors, Qtel said.
The alliance will see Qtel and iHorizons align their product development roadmaps and technology architectures in order to provide a faster time-to-market for new solutions, as well as bespoke service for key customers.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony attended by senior representatives from Qtel and from iHorizons, including Khalid Abdulla al-Mansouri, Qtel executive director (Business Solutions) and Mohamed Takriti, iHorizons CEO.
It is one of the first agreements of its kind between two leading Qatari companies, a major regional operator and a leading provider of business solutions and IT services.
Al-Mansouri said, “Qtel is placing strong emphasis on ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality of business services and support, backed by world-class infrastructure in Qatar, as demonstrated by Qtel’s fibre technology project that will deliver unprecedented support to businesses across Qatar. In order to fuel the business ambitions of our customers, we are working with best-in-class partners like
Takriti said,”The world is witnessing rapid convergence between telecom and IT services, and businesses and consumers expect leading edge solutions and flawless customer service. Therefore, iHorizons is teaming up with Qtel to develop, market, and operate such converged solutions.”
Developments will target several areas and emerging technologies, including cloud-based business services, enterprise portal solutions, managed services, digital media solutions and wireless applications.
Qtel provides some of the most advanced business communications services available in the region, and continues to enhance its portfolio for companies of all sizes. In addition to supporting the communication needs of many of Qatar’s leading and most strategically-important enterprises, it has also developed a wide range of dedicated support services for small and medium sized businesses.
Given Qatar’s ongoing dynamism and growth – even in the face of fierce global economic pressure – Qtel has worked hard to ensure that the network is in place to enable consistent and ongoing development on the part even the most ambitious Qatari company.
The company has invested more than $3.2bn in Qatar’s technology infrastructure to ensure that this growth can continue far into the future.
