One of the most successful business groups of the country, Regency Group Holding, yesterday announced the formal opening of its latest hotel property in the country, Ramada Encore Hotel, along the Ahmed Bin Mohamed bin Thani Street in Al Asmakh yesterday.
The new hotel had a soft opening about two months ago and has already been receiving customers since then.
The hotel is managed by London-headquartered Wyndham Hotel Group, which is billed among the largest hotel companies with more than a dozen brands under its umbrella.
Speaking to journalists, president of Regency Group Holding and owner of the Regency Encore Doha Ibrahim al-Asmakh said: “As there is a strong need for quality accommodations at reasonable prices, our company’s introducing a select service brand to Doha would surely have a positive impact on the market.”
The business model of only selecting amenities and services that are important for today’s travellers will help the hotel to maintain its reputation as “simply better”, explained al-Asmakh.
He said since the hotel’s launch more than two months ago, it has had always an occupancy rate of more than 80% and it showed the demand for hotels providing quality services at competitive prices in the country. “We cater to leisure, tourist, corporate and business travellers and our company is hopeful of generating good businesses in coming years in view of the extremely favourable business environs in the country,” he said.
“Qatar is a fast-growing country, managed and administered well by a government headed by a ruler whose vision for growth is well acknowledged across the world,” said al-Asmakh. The hotel owner dispelled the fears arising from the ongoing turbulence in some parts of the region and asserted that it would have absolutely no impact on the businesses in a well-administered country as Qatar.
The group president also said it is owing to the liberal business environs prevailing in the country that more than 18,000 new hotel rooms and another 8,000 hotel apartments are being constructed across the country these days. “Hoteliers could go ahead with such massive new constructions only with the excellent support extended to the hospitality industry by the government,” he explained.
The favourable business environs in the country are reflected well with the buying of several freehold properties in large numbers by foreign nationals, he said.
The Ramada Encore Hotel, situated in a 13-floor state of art building, has 111 contemporary guest rooms, with free wired Internet access and all other latest amenities. Rooms on non-smoking floors or interconnecting rooms are also available upon request, said the hotel managers.
Vice-president Europe Middle East and Africa (operations) of Wyndham Hotel Group Michael Zager, general manager of Ramada Encore Doha Saqib Anwar and Sales and marketing manager Waseef Ahmed were among others present at the briefing.
