An Indian MP has urged New Delhi to approve the construction of an airport at Aranmula in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district.
Anto Antony, who was speaking at a function in Doha organised by the Friends of Tiruvalla (Fota) also said efforts are underway to develop the Tiruvalla railway station in Pathanamthitta district to world standards at a cost of Rs1,500mn.
The MP said the central government has already initiated steps to set up a passport office in Tiruvalla.
Antony, who represents Pathanamthitta in parliament, was in Doha to attend the Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC) global conclave, hosted by the Indian Cultural and Arts Society (Incas).
