A display of some of the items at the Al Zain stand at the exhibition
Al Zain Jewellery and its extensive collection of custom-made bridal jewellery have been enjoying a great deal of interest at the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, attracting customers with their mix of traditional Arabian and modern design.?
The brand manager of the Bahrain-based jewellers, Yousif al-Ghawas, told Gulf Times that the company was set to open a store in Qatar in April.?
“Qatar is a very booming market for us,” he said, adding “we are really excited to be opening our store here in the near future.”?
Al-Ghawas explained that Al Zain had focused much of their advertising and exposure at foreign exhibitions and to markets outside the region, but were now concentrating on customers in the regional market as well.?
He said that the brand prided itself on being like “an old family friend” and forming a lifelong relationship with their customers.?
“We stay with them through their whole lives and celebrate graduations, engagements, weddings and other important events,” he said.?
With an impressive collection of diamonds and jewellery on display, the Arabic identity of the brand and the importance of its heritage is immediately apparent.?
“Our pieces are by Arabic designers for Arabic customers,” said al-Ghawas, explaining that high end loyal customers make up a large portion of the company’s profits.?
The sets range in price from around QR50,000 to around QR2mn and customers can also choose their own diamonds and jewellery, providing a sketch of their desired piece before Al Zain custom make the item.? ??
With stores already established in Jordan, UAE and Saudi Arabia, Qatar will be the newest addition to a steadily-expanding empire, and Doha’s jewellery collectors will have another place from which to buy pieces to mark the special occasions in their families’ lives.
