HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani receiving Sri Lankan Minister of External Affairs, GL Peiris, at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. The Lankan foreign minister handed over a letter to the Emir from Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, related to bilateral relations and issues of
common concern. The meeting was attended by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Emiri Diwan Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah. Separately, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud met the Sri Lankan minister of external affairs.

co-operation and a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern. Earlier yesterday, HE the Minister of Social Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour Nasser bin Abdullah al-Hamidi met professor Peiris and his accompanying delegation. They discussed ways to boost relations in the labour sector.
