The winners on the podium
Dion Durdle of Canada claimed overall victory at the Qatar qualifier of Red Bull Crashed Ice as well as a position in the starting line-up at the world championship final in Quebec on March 19.

Over 5,000 spectators attended the competition at the City Center ice rink on Friday and cheered as 32 local athletes battled around an obstacle-strewn arena.
Durdle and his fellow compatriot, and former Qatar champion, Bill Chase, faced off in the final. Durdle achieved the quickest lap in 39.37 seconds.
Chase secured second place with 42.40 seconds and was followed closely by Qatar’s Nayif al-Rimayi (43.53), who became the first Arab national ever to secure a podium position in a Red Bull Crashed Ice qualifier.
Red Bull Crashed Ice, a cross between ice hockey and boarder cross, made its debut in Stockholm in 2000 and has since been held in many capitals around the world.
The Red Bull Crashed Ice Qualifier in Qatar was co-sponsored by Vodafone, iloveqatar.net and MINI.
