The first phase of voters’ registration for the fourth Central Municipal Council (CMC) election in 29 constituencies in the country ended on Thursday.A total of 4,393 Qatari citizens who had not registered in the previous three elections registered as new voters, while the numbers of those who applied for changing their constituencies reached 818. The initial list of voters will be announced at headquarters of each constituency today.
The election committees will start accepting the applications for deleting or adding names in the voters’ list from tomorrow until Sunday.
Head of the elections legal committee Col. Salim Saqr al-Muraikhi praised the fair work flow witnessed in the first phase of election process.
CMC elections media committee head Maj. Mohamed Majid al-Sulaiti urged citizens who have not registered as voters to do so before Sunday.
