Bentley on Wednesday  night presented the new Continental GT as part of its display stand at the inaugural Qatar Motor Show, showcasing the new model alongside other cars that have proved popular in the Middle East.

The new model stands alongside the Bentley Mulsanne and the Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed Arabia at the motor show, where company officials yesterday spoke about the importance of the regional market in Bentley’s continued growth.

“The Qatar market is very close to us,” said a representative of Bentley, adding that the country represents a major proportion of the brand’s regional sales.

He added that the company are also looking at the possibility of developing another state-of-the-art sales facility in Qatar.

“We are looking forward to 2011,” he stated, noting that the GCC is currently leading sales figures for the Mulsanne.

“The Mulsanne is the opposite of mass production - we start where others stop,” he added.

Chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, Franz-Josef Paefgen has said of the recently launched model: “The new Mulsanne is a thoroughly modern flagship that captures the essence of the Bentley brand.”

“It is elegant yet distinctly sporting in its character, delivering effortless performance, while within its  cabin, advanced technology sits discreetly with handcrafted luxury,” he added.
