Cisco yesterday announced the introduction of its Flip ‘shoot and share’ pocket camcorders in Qatar, in association with Techno Blue.

“Flip Ultra HD and Flip Mino HD enable instant capture and easy sharing of personal video,” Cisco Consumer Products managing director (emerging markets) Mohamed Meraj Hoda said.
Voted one of the top 100 gadgets of the century by Time magazine, Flip has sold more than 5mn units in less than three years in the US and grabbed over 20% of the camcorder market by attracting 70% of new users who were not looking for a video camera, he said.
“Qatar is a key market for Cisco consumer products. Flip’s shoot-and-share capabilities are an ideal way for its youthful and growing Internet population to share experiences and stay in touch,” Hoda said.
By 2013, 91% of traffic on networks will be video, he said referring to the latest studies and explaining the relevance of Flip.
All Flip mini camcorders are pre-installed with FlipShare, the breakthrough software that enables users to easily organise, edit and share their videos.
Consumers can plug the camcorder’s signature flip-out USB arm into any Mac or PC to access FlipShare’s simple drag-and-drop interface for easy video sharing via e-mail or direct upload to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other popular video sharing sites.
The new Flip Mino HD one-hour and two-hour camcorders are small, sleek and stylish with enhanced HD (720p) video quality.
The new Mino HD camcorders feature built-in image stabilisation, so users can
capture clear and steady video.
The Flip Ultra HD provides up to two hours of recording capacity, and a bright two-inch screen for easy viewing even in direct sunlight.
The innovative AAA rechargeable battery pack in the HD model can be recharged through the camera’s built-in USB arm.
The Flip Mino HD, with one-hour of HD quality video capture capacity has a recommended retail price (RRP) of QR699, while the two-hour model’s RRP is QR899 and the Flip Ultra HD which can capture up to two hours of HD quality video has a RRP of QR799.
