The 15-member Japanese dance group ‘Honiya Yosakoi’ is to perform at Aspire Fan Zone tomorrow and on Saturday. Entry is free.
Dance group during a recent performance at the Japan School of Doha
The group belongs to Honiya, a well-known cultural organisation in Kochi Prefecture in Japan. It was invited by Qatar Vision to perform in connection with the ongoing AFC Asian Cup 2011.
‘Honiya Yosakoi’ had performed a Japanese folkloric dance at Katara, the Cultural Village, earlier this month.
The Japanese ambassador to Qatar, Kenjiro Monji, stated it was a rare opportunity for people in Qatar to see the live Japanese folk dance.
The dance show tomorrow is from 10pm to midnight, and that on Saturday, from 2pm to 4pm.
