More customers have won prizes in Qtel’s ‘SMS and Win Trivia Contest’ this week.
The contest enables players to buy digital content and earn points every time they answer a quiz question through text message.
At a ceremony held at Qtel headquarters, some 40 winners received a range of prizes, including one ounce gold ingots (worth around QR5,000), the latest Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, and cash prizes worth QR1,000.
All winners have the chance to win the grand prize, a top-of-the-range Porsche 911 Carrera, in a prize draw to be held by January-end.
The contest poses a challenging set of questions on Qatar’s rich history and traditions, with contestants receiving questions and sending answers by SMS from their mobiles, at a cost of QR4 each time. Every answer – right or wrong – buys them a piece of new digital content. 
Anyone with a Qtel service can still play the game and enter the competition, and there are still over 80 prizes to be won, including the grand prize. 
To participate in the contest, Qtel customers can simply send an SMS to the short code number 92020. Players receive instructions on how to play, the ongoing quiz questions, and details on how to access the digital content they have purchased.  Hala, Shahry and Control customers are eligible to play.
The contest ends at midnight on January 19.
Any time players want to leave the quiz, they can simply send the message
‘STOP’ or ‘UNSUB’ to 92029 free of charge, or call 111 to drop out of the quiz.
