Doug Thomson and Adrian Lobley emerged victorious in Flight A & B respectively at the golf tournament organized by Qatar Golf Lovers over the weekend at the Doha Golf Club. Steve Dewar won the second prize in flight A while Jim Gartner was runner-up in Flight B of the competition participated by 64 golfers.
PK Mathew won the ‘longest putt’, Richard Msweli won the ‘closest to Pin’, Gavin Daley won the ‘longest drive’, Mary Moore won the ‘closest to Rope’ and Jorge Martignoni won the ‘best gross’ prizes. QGL organised a prize distribution function later in the morning at the Doha Golf Club and gave away prizes to all winners.
Meanwhile, QGL announced their Ryder Cup tournament for 2012 which will be played on Friday 12th October. 22 teams from ‘Team Canada’ will be playing against 22 teams from ‘Team Rest of the World’ on a ‘match play’ format. Rest of the World beat Canada by one point in the last Ryder Cup played in 2010.
