Wanderers Hockey Club, Qatar organised an open 4-a-side rink hockey tournament to celebrate India’s 66th Independence Day. Teams were named White, Saffron and Green denoting the colours of India’s national flag. The highlight of the tournament was the participation of Treasurer Cyril Fernandes’s son - Clive (all of just 9 years of age), ensuring Wanderers have a bright future in Qatar. The top scorer of the tournament was no surprise with current Qatar national player Savio Nayak topping with 6 goals. Rohit Charles-led White won the tournament. Wanderers plan to organise a similar tournament later in the year open to all GCC teams. Club President Fabian Faleiro spoke on the occassion which capped a wonderful Ramadan Wanderers Festival
