Abdul Karim, Raul and Khalfan Ibrahim scored the three goals for the winners. The match took place at the Aspire Dome. The second semifinal will be played between Al Rayyan and El Jaish.
The Sheikh Jassim Cup is the first event of the new football season
Al Sadd striker Raul said he was pleased to have opened the account for his new club. Raul, who signed a one-year deal with Al Sadd in May this year, said he did not find it difficult playing in humid conditions.
“I played well and didn’t find the conditions difficult. “I want to thank the fans for their support. I have supporters here in Qatar and away from Doha,” he said.
“I am happy with this start. I hope this was one of many goals I will score for my new team. I am enjoying my time with the new players and staff members. I think the coach is doing well with the side,” he added.
Coach Amute Hussein said: “We were trying new combinations and the fitness of the players. We need more matches to get into some kind of rhythm.” He added: “We will be trying new players in the coming weeks.” The new QSL season starts in September
