Spanish star Raul scored his first goal for Al Sadd on his first official outing on Saturday, firing his team into the semi-finals of the Sheikh Jassim Cup.

Veteran Raul set up a goal for Nadir Belhadj and also found the net himself as Al Sadd beat minnows Mesaimeer 2-0 at the Qassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Al Sadd will clash with Al Arabi in the last 4 on Friday, with El Jaish taking on Al Rayyan in the other semi. The final will be played on Monday.
In another match, Qatar SC breezed through Al Sailiya 2-0 at Al Khor Stadium. Both sides had no chance to advance to the semi-finals.
The Sheikh Jassim Cup is the first tournament of the Qatari domestic calendar.
A busy local and international season looms with the Qatar Stars League beginning on September 15 and the Qatar World Cup squad engaged in a qualifying race from Asia for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Various age-groups teams are also scheduled to take part in Gulf and Arab-level football tournaments.
