Brazilian international and Villareal striker Nilmar (pictured) ended days of speculation by singing a four-year deal with Qatar Stars League side Al Rayyan, the club said on its website www.rayyanclub.com.

“It is official #Nilmar signed a 4 year contract with Al Rayyan, according to the club’s website,” www.qatarfootball.com said on its Twitter feed .
Nilmar is expected to undergo a medical in Doha today. Nilmar was always likely to leave El Madrigal this summer following the club’s relegation from the top flight in Spain at the end of a season in which injury restricted him to just 13 league starts.
He joins a long list of international footballers, like Dutch brothers Ronald and Frank de Boer, Spaniard Pep Guardiola, and Argentinian Gabriel Batistuta, to have played in the Qatar Stars League.
The former Internacional forward, who was a member of the Brazil squad at the last World Cup, had has attracted interest from clubs both in Europe and back in his homeland.
Nilmar joining Al Rayyan will add to a Brazilian contingent that already includes former Middlesbrough striker Afonso Alves and ex-Besiktas midfielder Rodrigo Tabata.
