Abdulaziz al-Kuwari won the Qatar National Rally 2012 championship after winning the sixth and final round on Friday.
Organised by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), the event was held in the evening due to high daytime temperatures.
Abdulaziz and his co-driver Nasser al-Kuwari encountered few problems on Friday, totalling 59mins24.3secs to finish ahead of Turkish woman driver Burcu Centinkaya who clocked 1hr9mns59secs.

Meanwhile, Faisal al-Attiyah won the Qatar National Baja, the ninth and final round of which was also held on Friday. He clocked 59mins4.2secs, while Saudi Arabia’s Ibrahim al-Muhanna was second. The UAE team of Ali Hassan Obaid and Ali Hassan Dadi finished in the third position.
