Alain Perrin (pictured) has been named as the new coach of the Qatar Olympic team following Paulo Autuori’s promotion to the senior job.
The 55-year-old former Olympique Lyonnais, Portsmouth and Marseille coach will take charge after his commitments with Al Khor in the ongoing Gulf Clubs Championships are completed.
Perrin’s first task will be to lead the team in friendlies against UAE on June 5 and 7 ahead of the AFC Under-22 qualifiers in Malaysia.
Autuori has been doubling up his duties as senior and Olympic coach after taking over the reins in February following Sebastiao Lazaroni’s dismissal in December.
