ARAB GAMES PRIZES
The Organising Committee of the Arab Games Doha 2011 will be giving away large cash prizes to medallists and record breakers. Awards will not be limited to athletes, but will also include the NOCs of medallists and record breakers.
BREAKING AN ARAB GAMES RECORD
Any athlete who breaks an Arab record in any competition will be awarded an amount of $5,000 and the same amount will be presented to the NOC of the athlete.
ATHLETE OF THE ARAB GAMES
The athlete winning the greatest number of medals will receive $70,000 in addition to other prizes from official sponsors.
INDIVIDUAL SPORTS
In individual competition, gold medal winners will receive $5,000. Silver medal winners will be awarded $3,000 and the bronze medal winner $2,000. The same amounts will also be awarded to the corresponding NOCs in these events.
TEAM SPORTS
In team competition, gold medallists will receive a team prize of $50,000, while silver medallists will receive $30,000 and the bronze medallists $20,000. The same amounts will also be awarded to the corresponding NOCs in these events.
INDIVIDUAL SPORTS (TEAMS EVENTS)
For teams competing in individual events, each athlete on the winning team will receive $3,000, while silver medallists receive $2,000 each and bronze medallists $1,000 each. The same amounts will also be awarded to the corresponding NOCs in these events.
ARAB GAMES FIRST
This is the first time in Arab Games competition that such prize money will be awarded as the AGOC in Qatar attempts to raise both competition and athletic performance to the
highest possible levels.
