The Qatar Olympic Committee, Secretary General, HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani has confirmed that Qatar seek all effort  to develop the standards  of hosting  sport tournaments and Games.
Addressing a pre-event press conference Thursday , one day prior the opening of the 12th  Arab Games 2012 in Doha, AGOC chief, Sheikh Saoud stressed that the number of Arab athletes engaged in the Games reached 5400 amid big participation from Arab nations.
The AGOC Chief has unveiled that the Organising committee set up advanced standard in respect of  the organisation, management and documentation for the games .
“ The newly-updated AG website shall be a gift from AGOC to the  Union of Arab National Olympic Committees (UANOC) , the official sponsor of  the Arab Games” said His Excellency.
On his remarks about Arab Games opening on December 9,  AGOC Chief reaffirmed that all technical arrangements  and modern technology were made  to be used   in  the opening ceremony which begins from 7 pm and last for two hours and 15 minutes.
“ The most prominent scene at the Games opening ceremony shall be the entry of Paralympics athletes beside other sport delegations into the stadium” said Sheikh Saoud.
“According to the directives of HH Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani who is also the President of Qatar Olympic Committee the ticket revenues will  be distribute among Qatar domestic Charities) said AGOC Chief.
“Regarding the sporting day, the  HH Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President of Qatar Olympic Committee announced on Tuesday in the second week of every year as the country’s sporting day” said SheikhSaoud.
