Iraq goalkeeper Mohammed Khased (R) makes a save against Qatar striker Khalfan Ibrahim during their international friendly soccer match at the Jassim Bin Hamad stadium in Doha on Friday night. Qatar, playing their first match under new coach Brazilian Sebastiao Lazaroni, failed to impress as the visitors looked the better of the two sides preparing for the third round of Asian zone qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup which begins next month. Salam Shakar Ali, who plays for Al Khor in Qatar Stars League, scored in the 35th minute to give Iraq a 1-0 victory. Qatar will play their final warm-up match with UAE in Al Ain on Thursday before travelling to Manama for their opening match of the qualifiers against Group E rivals Bahrain on September 2. Iraq play at home against Jordan in Group A on the same day
