Seeking prospects in Qatar’s growing health insurance market, Daman Health Insurance Qatar has launched operations in the country.
A Doha-based company registered with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), Daman Health Insurance Qatar (Daman Qatar) is the joint venture between the National Health Insurance Company (Daman) in Abu Dhabi and Munich Health (Germany).
Daman Qatar said it is “entering the market at an ideal moment and with a proposition that is likely to change the insurance sector in Qatar.”
“At a time when corporations in Qatar are looking for a service provider that offers them a technically-sound product with the highest service standards in the industry, we truly believe that our launch will create new standards in the market,” said Lee Shurey, Daman Qatar CEO.
“We are new here in Qatar, but have the benefit of a well-established and proven infrastructure from the National Health Insurance Company and the highest of industry standards as set by Munich Health,” he said.
Munich Health is one of three business segments of Munich Re, one of the world’s leading re-insurers with a history of more than 130 years, while the National Health Insurance Company – Daman is an Abu Dhabi based insurer with membership exceeding 2.1mn, the largest in the region.
